Il prequel di Game of Thrones in arrivo in autunno

George RR Martin ha annunciato con un post sul suo profilo di livejournal l'uscita di un racconto, un prequel del primo libro di Game of Thrones. Sarà disponibile in autunno precisamente il 10 ottobre (in Italia non è stata ancora prevista la data d'uscita). La storia sarà incentrata sulla casa Targaryen "The Sons of the Dragon" tradotto "i figli del Drago". Lo stesso George RR Martin afferma che:
"a history rather than a traditional narrative. A lot of telling, only a little showing. (The opposite of what I do in my novels). But if you’re fascinated by the politics of Westeros, as many of my readers seem to be, you should enjoy it."
Narrerà le vicende del primo e del secondo regno della casa dei draghi Aenys I e Maegor the Cruel, delle loro sorelle, mogli, figli, amici, rivali e nemici. Nel testo troveremo una maggior prevalenza di dialoghi rispetto alle descrizioni. Il racconto farà parte di un'antologia fantasy "The Book of Swords" curata da Gardner Dozois. Non abbiamo ancora l'anteprima della copertina ma lo stesso Martin ha annunciato che non appena sarà disponibile la posterà su livejournal . L'antologia prevede altre quindici storie ecco l'elenco pubblicato dallo stesso autore:
